Their use will result in rising sea levels, extreme weather, biodiversity loss, species extinction and food shortages. Civil unrest will increase as people become homeless, and lose food security.

In 2019, BP spent millions on an advertising campaign about its low-carbon energy and cleaner natural gas. While its advertising focused on clean energy, in reality, more than 96% of BP’s annual expenditure is still on oil and gas. And it's not just BP.
The ‘green’ advertising of those companies most responsible for climate change and environmental damage is misleading the public about their sustainability. Adverts are using greenwashing to distract the public from the harm their products cause to people and planet.
